About

For more than 75 years, Penn Staters have relied on The Football Letter for one-of-a-kind perspective on Nittany Lion football. Now, the Alumni Association is proud to introduce The Football Letter Blog, a new and unique destination for year-round coverage of Penn State football.

Longtime editor John Black ’62 will continue writing The Football Letter game stories, as he has since 1976. Here on The Blog, we’ll post additional content, much of which you won’t find anywhere else: exclusive interviews with Penn State coaches and players, behind-the-scenes access, and features on former Nittany Lion greats. We’ll also highlight Alumni Association chapter events and look back at memorable moments from The Football Letter archives.

We welcome you to subscribe to The Blog, and to follow us on Twitter at @PSUFBLetter. We’ll be updating throughout the year, with daily updates during football season, and special content available exclusively for Alumni Association members.

We look forward to hearing from you, and seeing you at Beaver Stadium this fall.

For the Glory,

Ryan Jones ’95

  1. Ryan – Following up on your 9/15/13 post on Jim Rayburn (Jim Rayburn’s Long Run), we were saddened to see Jim’s streak come to an end, but he was in good company for his first miss. As he promised, Jim was with 30 of his friends at The Pour House In Greensboro, NC, to see our team clean house with Kent State. This is the watering hole for the Piedmont Triad Chapter of the PSU Alumni Association, of which Jim is an active member. We’re proud to call Jim one of our own, and we’re excited to see him on the occasional HOME game, along with the away games! Maybe you caught a picture of us on the scoreboard on Saturday – if not, please check our Facebook page at “Piedmont Penn State Alumni” for pictures of Jim in all his glory! For the Glory, Glenn Hinderliter, PTC-PSUAA Membership Chair

  2. I am a lifetime member of the Alumni Association. After a visit today to campus with my grandson which included a visit with Spider Caldwell, I found this blog. I get the Football Letter during season, but had no idea about this blog. Not sure how to sign onto it. HELP!!
